ART EXHIBIT: Texican Neo-Tribalismo by Bernardo Cantu

August 7, 2010
5:00 pmto9:00 pm

Eclectic Expressions Arlington TX presents CantuArtist Bernardo Cantu takes ordinary materials, often obtained at thrift stores, and turns them into wall sculptures. He draws on his Mexican roots as a 3rd generation Texan, embraces the future, and takes a stand on over-consumption and waste. The results are simultaneously familiar and foreign.

“Neo-tribalismo” is the conscious reconnecting with ancient wisdom, adopting new technology and concepts in order to focus on more intimate social and spiritual connections.

Cantu completed his Masters of Fine Arts degree at UNT in May of 2010. This is the premier exhibition of his art since completing school. A few pieces are previewed on the Eclectic Expressions website.
